Today I had to drop Darwin (my mini schnauzer) off at the vet to have a cyst removed... I am SO ANGRY at them because he hadn't eaten since yesterday (at the vet's instruction) and then they waited ALL day to do the procedure so he still hasn't eaten and now he has to spend the night to recover. Not to mention I called them ALL day and then finally they said to call back at 6 and they were closed!!! I freaked out! How do you tell someone to call at 6 and then not be there??? And not even call them with an update???
I was so sad when I came home and he wasn't here! I cried every time I walked into another room since normally I have his little furry face following me around... and then just so you guys know I am really nuts... Darwin LOVES to eat paper. If a piece of paper hits the floor he is there in an instant destroying it. I dropped a piece of mail on the floor and started crying AGAIN because he wasn't there to eat it. God I am such a baby.
So other than being an emotional wreck I am going to look for a new vet... I think I have had it with this one... Can anyone recommend a vet in the Babylon area?????
sorry i dont have a vet recommendation but i just wanted to say that i would be the same way about my pup...at least he is there getting better!!

West Babylon Veterinary...on Great East Neck Rd and Arnold Ave....I brought my dog there for like 14 years. They were great!

awwwwwww!!! Darwin s such a cute name and I think the fact that he eats paper is adorable!!! Animals are so quirky, just like people- it is TOO cute!!!

He really does the craziest things... I've never had a dog like this before!!! He is definitely my baby... FH and I always say that if we decide not to have kids he'll be ok with just getting schnauzers.
I picked the name because it means 'beloved (or dear) friend' What better name for a dog!!!!??? I looked up names like I was have a baby when I got him!! His breeder thought I was a nut. I called her everyday after she let me know he was born!
I grew up with mini schnauzers and when I moved, i started missing mine every day! He (of course) stayed with my mom, but I miss coming home to his cute little face!!! He eats paper too! We ALWAYS catch him with paper towels and toilet paper!
We got fed up with our vet in Queens and we started going to the Veterinary Hospital out on exit 44 on the LIE. Then we got a Vet who comes to the house! He's expensive, but it's so worth it. I don't know if he goes out to the Island, but it's worth a shot. FM me if you want his info.

Yes!!!!! The rain freaks him out! And forget it when it thunders, he's all over the place! When it snows, he hops around and eats the snow off your boots! He LOVES it. It makes me love the snow too, my sister and I would always fight over who gets to take him out after the first snow.

aww poor baby. My fhs mom has a mini schnauzer and he gets a lot of fatty tumors. Is that like what your dog has? I hear its common with that breed. We take our dog & all our families animals to All pets in West Babylon.
Where were you taking him?? My pup destroys paper too!!

that stinks! i have to bring my puppy in on monday to get fixed and they keep her over night! i'm excited to be able to go out but i'm gonna miss her :(

First, I love love love his name, I really wanted to name our puppy Darwin!
I know you said Babylon but our vet is Hauppauge Animal Hospital, we've been going there since I was a kid with all our pets. My parents dog just had a cyst removed and they were terrific. I would recommend them.

Awww...I feel so horrible for you...I know exactly how you feel...I have two puppies and they are like my babies...any little thing happens and I am a mess...one of them was attacked almost 2 years ago, he was only 7 mths and ended up losing his eye sight in one eye and he's never been the same since....they are the best things on earth...unconditional love...good luck with your baby....and good luck with a new vet....Before I moved to Florida I was using West Hills Animal hospital and they were good....
