Miss is strictly for a single woman. Ms is more neutral, you an use it for someone who is married or single.

Re: Miss vs Ms
Thank you! So it's safe to just use Ms. for all our 20-30s unmarried females?

I dt use Miss at all. I find it to be juvenile and used Ms for everyone unless they are married, then of course its Mrs!!

Re: Miss vs Ms
i would actually take out the period. Ms. is short for Miss, Ms is pronounced Mizz. It comes from our feminist foremothers who didn't want to be identified by there relationship with a man. Its fine to use for everybody.

I think it has a younger connotation because it only refers to women who have never been married. There are exceptions though; my aunt is in her 60s and says she still hasn't found the 'one', so technically you could call her Miss, though I dare anyone to actually do it!

Re: Miss vs Ms
I was told Miss is for a woman under 18, and Ms. was over 18 by the woman who did my invites.
