Missing DOG!

One of our Neighbors came by about 10 minutes ago with a lost dog and she couldnt keep it in her apartment so he is with us with my dog.

He is a Beagle probably less then a year old. My neighbor walked around with him knocking and no one knows who he is.

If anyone knows someone missing a beagle in the Hauppauge area please let me know!

you should take the dog to the local vet. often times owners will contact the vet to see if anyone has reported a missing dog.

also the dog might have the microchip in it, and then the vet can easily find out who owns the dog.

if none of those works, go old fashioned with posters at local grocery stores, etc.

Good advice.

Most local vets won't take the dog to keep, but contacting them is definitely the way to go, and a young beagle would be VERY likely to have a microchip.

I found a beagle a few months ago, and posters did the trick

I'm sure somebody is looking hard for him. Good luck!!

ETA UPDATE

So i called the number on the rabbi's tag and they gave me the contact information. The person did not answer his phone so I looked up the address and found the home number. The person I spoke with was the guys sister and he used to live with her but now lives in my development. Turns out the guy didnt notice the dog was gone! So the guys brother inlaw came and got the dog and he is going to keep it. The brother inlaw told us the guy is not very responsible and the dog was a friends dog that a friend couldnt keep. The brother in law has a big back yard and another dog so we were happy that someone who cares has the dog. So sad the guy didnt notice the dog was missing overnight.
