My FH and I are being told by people that if we won't see each other prior to the ceremony (being held at the RH), we will miss all of the shots or will be pulled out of our party all night to get the shots. Does this happen?? See each other prior to is not an option, we want that 'moment' when I walk down the isle. Any photographer's that will be accommodating to us??

Re: Missing the shot...
ehhh its a personal preference- how much time is between the ceremony & the cocktail hour?
we have a couple hours in between (ceremony at 2, cocktail hour at 7)- for us NOT seeing each other was what we both wanted- if thats what you want too- talk to your photographer, s/he will make it work

The ceremony is at the RH - there is the cocktail hour and maybe a 1/2 hour prior to being announced.

You can have photos taken of you two during the cocktail hour.

you can miss the CH, and maybe even add an hour on to your reception so you can use half of your CH and part of your reception to take pictures so you dont feel like you really missed so much of your wedding.
We took 2 hours of photos (bp, family, us) before the ceremony (felt like it was 15 minutes), a few leftover family photos in the bridal suite before the ceremony, a few pix in the bridal suit after the ceremony, a few BP shots between CH and reception (on the stairwell in the lobby) and then a few at the very end of dinner. It sounds like so much to type it out, but it feels like we still missed so many pictures and we don't even have our proofs back yet.
Your photog will fit the most impt shots in no matter how much time you have. you just need to decide what your priorities are -- do you want family pictures? how many BP shots? etc

That's what I thought and it should be plenty of time, but people are saying it won't. Am I crazy??

the time flies REALLY quickly. if you make a list of your must have shots, and decide if you want any family formals your photog will squeeze in everything as best as they can. i'm pretty sure plenty of brides do pix during the CH only
what if you get some other pictures (not with you both together) done before the ceremony? that might free up some time

The photographer will set up the initial meeting. You can do it in front of everyone or more privately. You will have a moment, but before the ceremony. That's what I'm doing.

Re: Missing the shot...
I was originally scheduled to take photos before the ceremony, but ended up being late. I was really reluctant to take pictures before the ceremony, but we attended a wedding in February 2008 where the bride and groom were *** for most of the reception because they were taking pictures. For my wedding one of the photographers stayed with my husband and took pictures of his family and groomsmen before the ceremony. The other photographer stayed with me and got me with my bridal party and a few family shots. I was really happy because I ended up getting my moment when he saw me coming down the aisle. We took most of our pictures during the cocktail hour and had no problem. In fact, we had time to say hello to everyone on a receiving line after the ceremony and had time to eat. Most people expect that you will be busy and don't interfere with the photographs. At the end of the day, you should do what you want and not feel pressured by the RH or photographer.
