Has anyone had someone misunderstand that they were in the bridal party. I just found out that my cousins wife thinks she's in it and I just want to cry. I am the type of person that never wants to hurt anyone else's feelings. Has anyone had this happen to them, if so what did you do? I am really having such a horrible day.

Re: Misunderstanding
no didnt have this happen. But why does she think shes in the bp? did she just assume? Well this is why people should never just assume. It is a horrible situation, i would feel bad about having to break the news too. But if you never asked her its not your fault she thinks shes in the bp. IS there anyway your cousin can break it to her

Re: Misunderstanding
that didnt happen to me, but i had a situation where someone made me feel bad for not asking them - it was ridiculous.....people should never assume or try to make you feel bad for not asking.....i would just tell her sorry but you already chose your bridesmaids and gently figure out a way to let her know she isnt one of them....dont have her in it because you feel bad, you will regret it...

Re: Misunderstanding
maybe you can somehow explain to her that you already chose everyone in your BP but youwould be honored if she would do a reading or something at your ceremony.

sorry trying to understand hahah. So she sent you an email and said something about her being a bm?
is your cousin a gm? is that why shes just assuming
i wouldn't have her in the bp if you dont want her in it. Dont pick someone just bc they assumed for no reason and now you feel obligated. You did nothing wrong

Re: Misunderstanding
I was joking around with my cousin in an email about being a gm and how i am so happy he's in the bridal party well anyway his wife opens the email and responds back and says that my cousin will get back to me later but they are both so happy to be in my bridal party. I was shocked I don't know where this came from. I asked my cousin to be a gm the day we got engaged which was August 1st. I never mentioned anything about his wife being involved.

so she thinks that since he was asked that means shes in it.
Well what i would do then is just respond back to the email just in a casual way. Say sorry i think there was a misunderstanding, this email was JUST to 'cousins name'

Re: Misunderstanding
OMG Jamie, I went through this back in may. Our best man's fiance thought she was going to be in my bridal party and then she quizzed me one day about the bridal party and i didnt even catch on. Later she text messaged me stating how pissed she was and that no one liked me and a lot of mean other things and since then i havent spoken to or seen her. Make it clear asap, so to save hurt feelings so you want to keep the party intimate. Good luck :)

that is the best way. Call him and tell him, say what she wrote back and if he can break it to her. Have him look at the email when he is home and say to her 'babe, this email was JUST to me'

Re: Misunderstanding
can you politely tell her that it must have been a misundertanding and that your FH wants to her husband as the GM and that while you would love to have her you just cant afford any more BMs

That's the truth we already have 10 on each side. We really can't have anymore.

Re: Misunderstanding
something similar happened to me I had a friend who was trying to make me feel bad that I didnt pick her my answer was 'well as you know me and Rich have been together for like 10+ yrs so I've had my BP pick forever ago and I really didnt want a big BP I think 7 is already too many' she understood needless to say we no longer talk (for other reasons) but thank god I didnt ask her!

Re: Misunderstanding
How do you know she wants to be in the BP?? Has she spoken to you yet?? If she hasn't maybe casually in front of her you can talk about your bridal party and who is in it. That way you've addressed it but didn't have to have that awkward conversation!
