My mother recently gave me a diamond necklace that was my grandmothers. Its gorgeous, but it is set in yellow gold.
I mentioned last night in front of my dad that I still don't have jewelry to wear day of the wedding and he asked why I'm not wearing my granmothers necklace. When I told him it is because it doesn't match my e-ring (platinum) and wedding band (white gold) and headband (silver tone) he looked at me as if I had 8 heads.
He said 'Do you really think anyone is going to notice?'
What do you girls think? Should I wear the necklace even though it doesn't match anything else? Will it be glaringly obvious like I think, or is dad right?

Re: Mixing Gold Colors
If your dress is white, it might not go, but yellow gold goes with ivory very nicely. Additionally, are you wearing a headpiece?

IMO I would have to see the necklace. I am wearing a silver cameo bracelet, my rings are platinum, but my cameo earrings have gold around the cameo, which is hardly noticeable... So I think it depends on what it looks like. Have a pic?

Dress is diamond white (which in my opinion, is just another way to sell white) and my headpiece is silver tone.
