Who accompanies MOB down the aisle?

My brother walked my Mom down the aisle.

If you don't have a brother, perhaps an uncle.

My mother is single and at my sister wedding her brother couldn't make it. She had her god-son walk her down. He was honored to do it.

My brother is my Man of Honor. Both my parents are only children. No godsons.

Are you close with both your parents? They can both walk you if you like the idea thats what I am doing.

Or what about a grandfather? It might be really special for him to walk her down the aisle as he did years ago then you and your dad.

i havent even thought about this!!!

im an only child...my grandparents are not alive, my mom only has goddaughters, all of which are in my bridal party, and she has 2 brothers, sooooooo i guess one of them will be walking her down...ill have to talk to her about this!!!

My dad escorted my mom down the aisle, then after she sat, he just walked back around to come get me! It worked out really well, b/c I really wanted them to walk down together (married 37 years!) and I really wanted just my dad to walk me down. I'm so glad we did it that way.

To answer multiple post questions- no living grandparents. We've discussed having them both walk me down and they felt it was best to have my mother already seated, my dad walk me down, and she will stand up when I get to the end of the aisle when they would both give me away. Also, I'm not getting married in a church so I'm not sure about having my dad come back around again. Dee0522- did he literally walk back up the aisle or did he walk around on the outside of the seating. If our ceremony is outdoors that might be possible but I'm not sure of spacing indoors.
