I'm having a bit of a problem deciding what color my mother and my FMIL should wear to the wedding. My FMIL is getting her dress made and wants to buy the material this summer so I feel the need to rush and pick a color for both of them. I dont want them to wear the same color but i want them to compliment the wedding and eachother. This is the set up of the wedding:
Bridesmaids- Tea length chocolate brown dresses with gold sashes and gold shoes
MOH- Tea length gold dress with gold shoes
The flowers are a mango colored roses and calla lillies. Both moms wiill have wrist corsages with the same color flowers.
Help with some ideas pleased. Pictures would be great.

Re: MOB and FMIL dress color....
I dont have any photos but...
what about that copper color and a peachier, gold color?
In my opinion, your mom should pick her color first and then you FMIL. Also, you may want to think about the moms not looking too similar to one another because you want both of them to stand out.
By the way- your so lucky FMIL is willing to wear what color you choose!

Re: MOB and FMIL dress color....
I'm not as lucky as you think. She is a very strong woman so i am waiting until i have some ideas before i approach her with it...that why i feel like i have to hurry up and decide before she buys the material is some god awful color. I think I will sit down with her and maybe ask what she was thinking about. I really dont know how to approach it and my FH wants no parts of it

Re: MOB and FMIL dress color....
OH wow- okay. So you have to have a plan.
Talk to your mom...ask her what she sees herself wearing. Go dress shopping with your mom- or is she having one made too?
I recommend My Daughter's Wedding II in Great Neck. They specialize in MOB desses and have them at all price points.
Just have your mom pick one out first but, don't make her feel rushed...she has to love it and feel comfortable in it.
As for FMIL- tell her 'I would like to see you in BLANK color or BLANK color' because it would compliment your WHATEVER...bla bla bla....
if she is anything like my FMIL...she will be too into the compliment to realize what your doing....
I have become wiser as my wedding day is approaching. I'm a deviant bride to be now, lol.
