I was telling my mom that I didn't care what she wore (she's walking me down the aisle) as long as she doesn't look like a shlep! And same thing goes for my grandma. My mom is definitely not a fancy dress or pantsuit wearer and I want her to feel comfortable. I just want them to feel like themselves. Do you girls think this would look bad?

Re: MOB and GOB dress
I think that if she is walking you down, she should at least be wearing a dress JMO. Davids bridal has very nice MOB dresses that arent over the top and wont make her feel uncomfortable. RK Bridal has a very big selection as well.

She was thinking of wearing a wrap skirt and a nice blouse. I'm torn - I don't want to make her feel weird. She has only started to wear skirts recently Argh - maybe I can at least convince her to take a look - she might see something she likes.

If she wants to do a wrap skirt and blouse I am sure you can find some nice ones and dress it up a bit with the jewelry. Maybe if you got a black satin skirt with a nice white top with some embellishments that would be fine.

I have to be honest with you- a wrap skirt and a blouse won't cut it. Especially if you are having the wedding in Westbury Manor. A wedding is a fancy event IMO. I'd say a nice light weight taffeta / satin 2 PC dress may work. I have seen those- they are comfy and elegant.

Something like this...and I think that it would be fine....it is your wedding and you make the rules...who cares what is supposed to be done...if your mom is comfy and looks nice that is all that matters.

i agree that something like This is great...but as before mentioned...this is at a fancy place and i noticed that it is a Saturday wedding which at night is usually the more formal of the two.

I definitely MIGHT be able to get her into something like this. Luckily we are having an afternoon wedding even though WM is on the fancier side. There is no way on earth (and it has nothing to do with pleasing me) that I could ever get my mom into a fancy dress. She just doesn't SWING that way, if you get my drift. Thanks for your opinions girls!
