MOB dress

my mom is walking me down the aisle, so a lot of people have said that she should wear something extra formal since she's part of the ceremony. on the other hand, my mom has been dragging her feet on dress shopping because she swears she's going to lose weight. she hasn't in a year and a half, but still hopes to slim down when we're six month out. she carries most of her weight in her belly, and she hates the way she looks in dresses (has--jokingly--begged to wear pants and a 'nice blouse' ).

any suggestions on styles of dresses that would suit someone of her body type and also be appropriate for the formality of the occasion? i'm really at a loss. post pics and i'll love you forever

My mom is the same way. I think an empire waist dress would flatter her. They tend to 'hide' a belly bulge.

thanks for responding. i think we'll def look at some empire waisted dresses when we go shopping. i'm just wary of the ones that look like togas...
