My mother is short - 4'11 - and she is starting to look at dresses, and cannot find a thing that looks good on her. She thinks she is too short for a long gown, but also is afraid that a shorter dress will make her look like just a random guest at the wedding.
Any suggestions on where to go for a good selection of MOB dresses?

is she willing to wear heels? i feel like wearing a floor length gown gives you a lot of leeway with the footwear... so she can always add some artificial height!

I don't think she's a fan of heels.....I'm 5'9 and I wear 3 inch heels all the time, she's so short, I think the highest heel she's worn recently is one inch
She is not making this search easy....

what about wedges? Those are a little more comfortable and easier to wear.
if you are having a spring/summer wedding, you can even have her wear some flip flop like wedges and since she's wearing a floor length gown, no one will see!

Look on nordstroms- they tell you what dresses look good on short/tall/pear shaped people

I think a long gown could make her look taller actually. It depends on how it's cut.

i think as long as you get a more slim/form fitting dress, it'll look fine.
my friend that just got married last year was 4' 11' and she had to stay away from the fuller gowns cause it would make her look even shorter than she was.
