MOB Dress

Umm so I just spoke to my mom and she says she finally got her dress so

But its BLACK?

Isn't that a no-no for a parent to wear?

I was always under the assumption it was rude like you were mourning your childs wedding....but thank you girls I feel a little better.

na my mom wanted black and my cousin told her no...for me i didnt care as long as she looks nice...she ended up with a cocoa bronze gown

My mom and FMIL thought this too, but I told them it was fine to wear at my wedding.

honestly, if either my mom or my MIL wanted o wear black, i would have been ok with it, however, but of them are OTB and way old school and flat out told me no because it would be like 'they were going to a funeral and not approving of the wedding' so my MIL wore blue and my mom wore red

I think black is considered more chic nowadays than morbid, but I can see how old school people would be taken aback by it. As long as you're ok with it then why not? I would say as long as its flattering and fashionable and doesn't look like a funeral dress, then she should go for it!
