MOB DRESS HELP..quick responses needed..

Hi!!
My friend needs help deciding what color her mother's dress should be for her wedding.

Her mom didn't want to get black because she thought it was too 'funeral like' so she got this light mocha color. It's almost like a silvery toffee color - if that makes any sense. Most like light grey w/ a hint of brown. Very hard to describe. But then my friend realized her mom is going to be walking her down the aisle!!!!!! In your opinion, should she wear black? To make it more tux-like and to make her stand out????? She doesn't want it to look like 2 brides.

Please help.

I don't think it will look like two brides. Usually the MOB dresses are not as fancy as a wedding dress. My mom is going to be walking me down the aisle and she's been hinting that she's going to wear red. I think that color would be fine. JMO

That sounds fine!! I wouldn't want to wear black to a wedding either for the same reason, esp as MOB. It'll be all right for her to wear that color, tho it is hard to picture. I'm sure with a veil, crown, train, and BoK of flowers it'll be very clear who the bride is!!

nah, I'm not a big fan of MOB in Black... I think the color she already chose will be beautiful.

I'll prob. have to fight my FMIL to wear a color ---- all she EVER wears is BLACK!!!

My Mom is walking me down the aisle and her dress is Gold... I am also not a big fan of MOB's in black... IMO it looks like they are in mourning over loosing their daughters

I think the silvery toffee color will be nice! I wouldn't worry too much about the MOB dress looking too much like your's.

If it is a light gray with a hint of brown it will not look like 2 brides b/c her dress isn't a cream or something similar. I really don't think it will look bad at all. I also don't think that her mother should wear black b/c it is too funeral like for women and she will still stand out even if she isn't in black.

My mom wore a bronze-y and my husband's mom wore a mauve/brown-- it went with some of the other colors we were doing- and were both warm colors-- which was the look we were going for.. I think the MOB should be confortable and feel beautiful- so whatever color she wants to wear is fine- but it should not drastically clash with the decor and the BMs.
