MOB dress: short or long?

MOB dress: short or long?

Of course I get my procrastination from my mother, beause she has not bought her dress yet.

She would like a shorter dress and I agree. But, a lot of my aunts who are much older than my mom is making her feel guilty and telling her that the MOB has to have a long dress. What are your moms/fmil wearing? If you have pics, that would be a huge help, we are going this weekend to start looking at gowns. TIA ladies!!!!!!

My mother is wearing a long gown. She wants to and I want her to as well.

I like MOB's in gowns they play a very special roll and I like for them to stand out.

i think it depends on how formal the wedding is. I also think MOG and MOH should wear the same length.
I sometimes think that a short dress doesnt look great next to a tux.

My mom and FMIL are both wearing long. Personally I think they should both be in long because it's more formal and will help them stand out.

sorry but i agree with your aunts, MOB's should wear long dresses, its a formal affair and your daughter's wedding, she can wear cocktail length anywhere, she should stand out a bit

here my moms dress

It definitely depends on the type of wedding and feel. My BMs and MOH are in cocktail length and my mom is wearing a tea length. It would be silly of her to wear long if everyone else is short...

My mother wants to wear a tea length dress and I just want her to be comfortable - so that's most likely what she's doing. She claims she can't really dance in long dresses - and my mother loves to dance...

Re: MOB dress: short or long?

I'll be different--my girls are wearing short and FMIL and my Mom are both looking for short. My mom is very petite and she doesn't feel comfortable in a long dress. Her argument is that everyone there will know who she is anyway, so the dress doesn't need to be long. In this case, I'd much rather have her be comfortable and feel like herself.
