MOB dress & veil shopping

MOB dress & veil shopping

Me & my mom finally have the day off to shop for her dress & my veil.
To save us time from running all over the place, I thought someone might be able to give us some good places to go.
She's a young cool Mom and doesn't want a boring MOB dress, but at the same time she doesn't want to look like she's trying to look too young. Any suggestions would help, thanks!

How about RK Bridal in the city??? There's a ton of MOB dresses there, but she could check out the BM dresses too and see if she finds something that fits her style. If you go on the weekend, make sure you get there early though. But during the week, it's not busy at all.

If she is anything like my mom, stay AWAY from the MOB dresses! Most are horrible. My mom actually went with this BM dress from Bill Levkoff-he has beutiful fabrics and great quality without obscene prices. She was hesitant because it is a long dress but she looks amazing in it-just like the photo. the construction of the dress hides any 'extra assets.'

As far as RK, I got my dress there and though the price was good I will say this: Unless you are going for a designer dress, look elsewhere because though the dress is cheap, they KILL you with alterations. they went OVER their cap!!!! Told me their cap is 350 but charge me 365? WHAT?!!!! AND they had the nerve to say they might need to charge me extra. I fought, but the owner is a racist son-of-agun and so are his asst mnagers. He gave me a hard time a bit ago with changing my dress color when THEY made a mistake until one of the younger black sales assistants puleld me to the side and told me it was a race thing and to whip out my credit card card and get the company on the line. Soon as I did, the manager's entire demeanor changed and he was up my A$$! Did EVERYTHING to make me happy, but just a moment before, he wa spractically throwing me out of the store and mind you folks, I work with little people so I have a pretty even temper and try never to be rude because it is just uneccessary. But he reallyburned my bacon.

Soooo although they have great prices, they are rude people and I regret ahving ordered there-would have been cheaper where I bought my mom's dress because they DONT CHARGE bridal alterations AND their prices were good.

RK people were nasty to my mom too which is why we bought her dress elsewhere and turned out to be same price as RK because they only charged 25 bucks for alterations. RK charges for 'the right' to get your alterations done there and then ADDITIONAL for the actual alterations.

Re: MOB dress & veil shopping

Hi I am a mom and I went to so many places. I ended up finding my dress at Moonlight Couture but ordered it from Phyllis at Bridal Elegance. She was much cheaper. There is a place in Patchogue called Paradise bridal that has a very large selection of all types of dresses. My dress is a strapless sweetheart neckline and the bottom is layers of chiffon to hide a lot with beading on top and runs down one side of dress. I went on line to some of the designer web sites and printed out what I liked. I also went to some places that I knew were more money and tried on dresses there just to get an idea what looked good on me. Such a place is PM boutique. They have beautiful things but expensive. I knew I wasn't going to buy from them but they gave me good ideas. Then I went on the internet to print out dresses in that style. The place in patchogue had all of the dresses I printed out. Good Luck

I agree with the other person above stay away from mob dresses. my mom is a young cool mom too. most of the mob dresses my grandma loves lol and my mom is like omg no. look at bridesmaids gowns, or cocktail dresses at bloomingdales/macys/nordstroms. my mom wants to get one of those with a little shawl thing around her arms, sort of promish lol.
