MOB Driving anybody else crazy too??
I swear, I love my mom, and she's a pretty laid back 'it's your wedding, do what you want to do' MOB. BUT.....I should've seen it coming, this happens to all mothers when their daughters get married right? They become insane.
First, lets talk about the dress. We started looking for MOB dresses a year ago. My parents dance every weekend, ballroom, swing etc - she definitely wanted a shorter dress, something elegant but fun, not the traditional MOB gown. Well, she has bought and returned 6 DRESSES!! She is now on Dress # 7 and swears this is 'the one'. And what type of dress is it? A full length, beaded gown with a train.....totally opposite the original idea. i will say, it's gorgeous, elegant and sexy - very nice. But, this BETTER be 'The One'!
Now, it's the music...... Like I said, my parents (and grandparents) like to dance. So I go home last weekend to find a list of songs my mother has written down - and she tells me this is her list to give to the DJ. I'm like, ok....you want me to give him all these songs? (there were about 15) She said yea, if you don't give them a lot of songs they'll just play what they want. And I want to make sure there's music we can dance to. I'm like 'what about the music I pick? You don't trust that I'll pick music you can dance to? Not to mention, a good DJ picks his own music based on what you like, and that's what makes an awesome night. OH - and on her list was 'Hot Hot Hot'. That is a definite no-no for me. I do not want to see a conga line at my reception.
oh and there was the China. I didn't even want to register for China, but somehow I got suckered into it cause that's just how it's done.![]()
K I'm done - don't take this as venting, I'm not mad about anything. Just felt like sharing, and see if any other girls have noticed the MOB insanity as well.....![]()
