MOB gown

My mother wants to wear BLACK because she feels like it makes her look skinny and she is most comfotable in it. I think I have a problem with her wearing black though.....does anyone think its a big deal or should I just let her wear black??
I suggested blue (but now thats the color of my BM dresses)....

I think you should let her wear black and be comfortable. Lots of Mom's are doing that now.

I agree. My mom is partially wearing black! I am fine with it.

My MIL wore black and it didn't bother me at all. I know a lot of mom's who have been wearing black lately.

I think black is fine, esp. if its an evening wedding. If mom is comfortable that should be most important....now if it was Ivory!!!!!!!!

My mom always wears black and most likely will for our wedding. I do not have a problem with it at all... in fact I'd prefer it! If she decides to do a color, all eyes will be on her in shock than on me!!! Tee Hee!!!

I can understand why you might not want to have her wear black......but being the type of person that is always pulling at a dress or wondering if it looks ok....I think I would let her wear what she is going to feel best in. If she picks a dress that you like, but she doesn't feel comfortable in, she may not have as good of a time.

My mom is wearing black. I was just happy she found something she loved and we could check one more thing off the list. But if she wanted to wear white or anyone else wanted to wear white I would be upset.

honestly, I don't find black to always be that flattering... I really think it's more about the cut of the dress than the color. Plus, any dark color will have the same effect.

I'd tell her that it's ok if she wears black, but you'd like her to keep an open mind and just try on a whole range of dresses... honestly, she should do that anyway! You never know what you might find, if you just limit yourself to black you might miss something incredible!
