MOB/MOG make-up

Did you--or are you--having your mom's makeup professionally done?? Is FH's mom??

My mom is being uncooperative...but I think if everyone else looks polished, she would want to as well!!!!

My Mom is not. MOG is...just two different personalities..
My Mom never wear anything more than lipstick and foundation. She does have GREAT skin but looks washed out in digital. So, if she wants to look older than she really is, that's her choice. I don't care.
You can't change people...don't let it ruin your day!

Re: MOB/MOG make-up

My mom had her makeup done for my sisters wedding. But she did it ehrself for my wedding. However, my makeup artist lightened up her eyes for her because she said it would look better for the photos. If she is worried about doing it right for the pictures, I'd say get someone to do it for her.

I think as part of their 'thank you' gift, I might pay for both of their hair and makeup to be done. Still debating on that one though.....all depends on cost.

My mom got her makeup professionally done and she loved it. DH's mom did her own and she looked great too. If your mom is more comfortable doing it herself, I say let her do it. You can suggest she do a trial run before the wedding and wear the makeup for 10 hours and see how it looks at the end of the day by taking some pics. Or suggest that she go to a makeup counter and get a lesson.

My mom and my grandmother has their makeup and hair professionally done. My MIL chose to do it herself. I didn't stress it because it was insignificant compared to the rest of our day.

My mom is getting it done and Im still not sure what MOG is doing. She literally wears no makeup and never does her hair usually. She was shocked when her hair dresser was like I KNOW your having me blow out your hair for your sons wedding?! And she was like umm I guess so I never thought about it!

I have no idea what shes going to do for makeup. I dont know how to ask her gently. Or even his grandmother. No clue! I guess I have to just ask them what they want to do.

My mom did her own makeup, as well as myself. We wear makeup everyday and we are comfortable doing our own. I did buy some primer which worked out well. I think its up to you mob and mog to choose what they want to do.

My mom will be getting hair and makeup done...Thats just her personality and she loves things like that.

MOG never wears makeup and never does her hair...BUT she stole my hairdresser from me for the day of my wedding (she already booked her for the time i need, knowing I wanted to book her.) so she will also probably be getting makeup done to 'one up' what my mother is doing.

Jees that is the farthest thing from cool.. SOrry to hear that. hope you got a fab hairdresser that you love even better!

My mom is NOT a make up person at all-- she cannot put make up on if her life depends on it -- She also doesnt feel the need to get her make up done-- HOWEVER--- she is big on pictures and wants an album with a zillion pictures which she will undoubtedly look at a zillion times-- therefore I have advised her that she needs to suck it up and get her make up done... she will NOT be happy with the way she looks otherwise-- my mom is low maintenance and would rather spend the money on me or something else for the wedding but I say she deserves to get done up for her daighters wedding and IMO the extra 100 bucks is a drop on the bucket of wedding spending! .... Its going to be my treat to her. considering my parents are helping a lot financially with the wedding.. ( Id like FH and I to pay for all the 'extras' for the parents-- parent albums, limos, and hair and make up as our 'gift' or part of it) .

I had just my BM's, no Mom's getting makeup done professionally. I would have invited them, but neither is really interested in that sort of thing.

Re: MOB/MOG make-up

My mom came with me and the rest of the bridal party to get out make-up done. I had a small wedding party so we were able to pile up in 1 car. I drove, we got there at 9am and were out by 11.
