MOB/MOG Question/Dilemma

Okay so I posted a few weeks ago saying how my FMIL got the ugliest dress in the world for the wedding. Well it ends up she returned it and got another one (She came to her senses...plus her daughter told her it was weird she had basically the same color as the BP). So I haven't seen the new dress, but FSIL approved of it. It supposedly brown.
So today, my mom who has been looking for a long time for a dress called me up, so happy, saying she fell in love with a dress. I haven't seen it yet, but she described it as gold on top and like a toast color (brown) throughout the rest of the dress.

So my question to you girls is, is it really bad if both the MOB and MOG are wearing similar colors?
I believe it is proper etiquette for the MOG to wait until the MOB gets her dress so they don't wear the same color, but obviously this isn't the case in my situation. I haven't told my mom that FMIL got a new dress that is brown because I just don't want to disappoint my mom. She sounded so happy when she called.

HELP...what would you do?

I think its ok for them to wear the same colors just as long as its not the same dress

Exactly! It's definitely ok.

I think it will look really nice that they compliment each other well.

i agree totally....and different dresses have different versions of the same color....so for instance the two color browns might be totally different

I agree They will have different dresses..and at least you know they won't clash!
