Modern Playlist/Suggestions

Hey eveyone I'm new here...

Well basically as the groom i have been delegated the responsibilty of the music...

ive been to a bunch of weddings and im sick of hearing the same tired old songs..i.e. 'always and forever', 'Unchained Melody', 'Butterfly Kisses', 'The Twist ',' I Swear' ..Yeeeech!!

im tryin to put a list together of more current music and SOME classics, but definately no Electric Slide, Cha Cha Slide, stuff like that, so u know what i dont want....in my opinion these are too corney.

any suggestions will def help my brain is completely frozen and full of songs!

Rock/ R&B/ Pop/ Spanish/ Reggae all welcome....no country please...no offense

my FH is a serious music snob, so he had the same feeling when he made the playlist for our e-party (iTunes, baby). in a way he compromised for the sake of pleasing the crowd, but he tried to chose quality songs that weren't TOO overplayed.

here are some of the things he included in the 'dance portion of the evening,' as he called it:

yeess, thats what i mean not the usual stuff but things people can dance to or recognize, keep em coming.

if it were up to me it would be all LP, G N' R, Pearl Jam and so.. on but its gotta work with the DJs and the guests, so i gotta mix it up
