So my FMIL got her dress...and she told me it comes down to her mid calf. Uhm, isn't it traditional to wear a floor length gown? She is in her mid 60's.
Does this sound odd to anyone else?

i think it can be any length they want. doesnt necessarily have to be floor length. depends on the fomarlity of your wedding and what you wanted her to wear.

Gotcha! I am just happy she finally has one, so I shouldn't care either way. Glad that parts over with!
