I do not have to many girls in my family that I am close with, so my younger cousin is going to be my MOH, but I am not sure if she is to young for the church. My cousin will be 16 at the time I get married.
Does anyone else have a similar problem or know if 16 is too young for a MOH in a catholic church?

Re: MOH age question....
I dont know about the church but I am having 2 MOH one is my BF and the other is my sister who will be turning 16 a week after my wedding ...I chose both of them b/c i know my sister cannot plan everything on her own ...a MOh has big responsibilities so you might want the other BM to help her

I don't think it matters to the church who you choose to be your MOH. I personally think 16 is too young because the MOH has a lot of responsibilities, but if that is who you want to be you MOH I don't think the church will really care.

I didn't think that the church had any restrictions on who you chose as a MOH. If they do, well my MOH being an athiest can be a real problem... Otherwise, I don't think 16 is too young to be MOH especially if she's mature because some 16 year olds still act like their ten. Other than that you should pick whoever you want as long as they make you happy and that you know you won't have any regrets.

Re: MOH age question....
Sorry, girls I did post on BHB board. Thank you for the responses. Just wanted to get some feed back on the church thing. I know 16 would be young to everyone, but she is so mature and my godmother's (who is also my mother's twin sister) daughter. So, I know she will defintely have help from all in whatever her responsibilities are. I do have other choices for a second MOH or Matron of Honor. I just really wanted my cousin, because we are so close...

Well, in that case... go for it and Im sure the church won't care.
