MOH ASKED ME

LAST NIGHT WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING FOR MY SHOWER? SHE THINKS SHE IS MY MOM AND DAD SAY THEY ARE AND ANOTER MOH THINKS THE BRIDAL PARTY THROWS IT

SOOOOOOO WHO THROWS THE SHOWER LADIES???????

Every wedding I've been in, the MOB threw the shower. Bridal party chipped in for little things...invites and favors.

Im not sure how it really works, but Ive been in tons of BPs and I never paid for the shower, the MOB always paid. My mom is paying for my shower. This might be an Italian tradition though so don't take my word for it.

I think it depends. A lot of my coworkers who are married said their parents threw it for them. A few others said their mom and mother-in-law, and a handful said the bridal party. I think that's a lot to ask of them.

MY MOH THINKS IT WOULD BE RUDE IF SHE ASKED BP TO CHIP IN I TOLD HER I DIDNT KNOW LOL

I was always told the bridal party threw it and split the costs. But usually the MOB is included in all planning if she wants to be and usually pays a portion to.

i've always known it to be the MOH that pays for everything. But, times have changed and alot of times the bridal party will help out along with bride's mom

I think my whole BP plans on splitting the costs... my MOH kinda hinted that at me... I really am not sure... I have been to showers where only MOH paid or the BP chipped in...

I guess it depends on how your BM , MOH and parents feel who should do what.

I thought the bridal party all chipped in for the shower. That is what I have done in the past at least. But now I am hearing that the MOB pays a lot of the time. I guess it could go either way.

I think lately, since not as many Bride's parents are footing the whole wedding bill, it's the MOB, but it was once the MOH who planned it and BP chipped in. Showers were also pretty simple . . . at someone's home, with some favors and games, and a bit of lunch. People go all out now, though, so it's hard to assume the BP can do that AND the bachelorette, and the dresses, shoes, makeup, hair, etc.

I've been in BP's where the MOB paid and where the whole BP chipped in. I don't think your MOH should feel she has to pay for it all by herself - unless she wants to. People will chip in what they can especially the people you asked to be in your BP since they are special in your life

Formal etiquette dictates the MOH hosts the party while all female Bridal Party members chip in. it is considered anti-etiquette for the MOB to pay for or plan it UNLESS she is in the bridal party.

However, almost every shower I've been to has been paid for and hosted by the MOB. I think it's a Long Island thing.

I would consider yourself fortunate people are so anxious to throw you a shower and foot the bill. In this case, since everyone is expecting to pay, have them all get together and plan it out. I'm sure they can all agree to each chip in and be responsible for different things.
