in an earler post I mentioned that I asked my best friend to be my matron of honor - she introduced me and FH - as well as another close friend to be my maid of honor. Both women mean a lot to me and for various reasons I had to ask them both. They both accepted, however the maid backed out tonight. She gave a lot of reasons, all valid. I give her a lot of credit for not wanting to do a half-assed job, but I was really looking forward to having her as one of my MOH's. We have had a rough year in our friendship and are starting to rebuild - it meant a lot to me to have her as MOH. She and my FH don't see eye to eye a lot of the time, and for a lot of reasons I guess it makes more sense just to have it this way. She asked to be a BM and I will have to be OK with that.
My other MOH is more amazing than anyone and I couldn't be more thrilled to have her by my side. All in all I think this will be better, but part of me still feels terribly rejected.
Not sure even why I'm posting this - I guess just to vent. Thanks for reading!

Dont be sad. She may not be your MOH but she will still be at your wedding and I am sure she will be dancing on the dance floor with you all through out the night.

I know in my head that what you're saying is true, but it still hurts. I introduced her to her boyfriend of 5 years - my cousin - and they are likely to get engaged soon. We always talked about being each others MOH's. I know it must have been tough for her to talk to me, and I appreciate her honesty, but it still s.ucks now. I know it will be much better in the morning....

Spoke to my matron this morning who was totally amazing - made me realize all over again why she is my MOH. I'm happy that she will have the honor all to herself - I guess I would just feel better about all of this if the other gal and I were in a better place. There are so many undercurrents to her rejection it makes it hard to just move on.

This is all fresh in your mind right now... let it pass and as time goes by, you'll realize that it so much better this way. You have a great MOH that is completely supportive of you- try to focus your energy on her, not your ex-MOH.

As your MOH, Meghan, I can say that the revenge will be soooo sweet when you have the best parties, clambakes, honors that come with being my best friend. I am really truly honored to be your MOH and all I can say is... GET READY GF! Every idea that I have written down, every book I purchased on being the BEST MOH, every minute I have hung around on this site and scooped up from all the girls on here ALL will go into your wedding planning.... This next year for you is going to be amazing and I will make sure of that!!!! You have been sooo good to me!

I'm sorry you feel that way. I know it hurts, but she will still be there with you, and that's important. My best friend backed out and isn't even coming to my wedding. Be happy you are still friends and she will still share your day! Respect her for her honesty, even though it may hurt right now. I'm sure when the Big Day comes, you won't even notice who's a MOH and who's a BM or even whos who at all!!
