MOH Dilema-sad

My BF/MOH just emailed me and told me her husband wants a divorce. I feel so terrible and sad for her. how am i to think happy thoughts about me and not worry about my BF who has a son who doesn't even turn 1 till february.

how do i go about trying to be happy around her? do i suggest that she doesn't have to be in the wedding party? i don't know what to do.

I'm going over to console her later. i don't know how to go about it though. i'm afraid i may say the wrong thing.

her SOB of a husband just simply said he doesn't love her anymore. i can't imagine just waking up one morning and saying i don't love you anymore.

any advice would be sooooo helpful

i think that right now you just need to be a friend. your life cant stop because something terrible has happened in hers. plan your wedding, get happy about whatever you are happy about - and hope that your union with your FH will remind her that not every guy is a 'SOB' and that love is real and can happen for her again.

i feel terrible. all the best to your friend.

I agree-Just be there for her and listen to her-and don't hold back your plans and such because I am sure after the initial shock your friend will want things back as normal-

just remind her how strong she is and how she will get through this -

There's not really much you can say to your friend, but asking her if she doesn't want to be your maid of honor won't do anything. Your friend won't want you to stop being happy or to include her in the wedding because of her difficult time. At least i wouldn't. I mean the wedding might help keep her busy.

All you can do is listen to her cry, complain, yell, etc.

I truly don't understand how someone can wake up one day and say i don't love you anymore. How long have they been together?

I agree. One of my BMs just separated from her husband a couple of weeks ago and I asked her if she'd be okay on Sunday - she told me that no matter what happens in her personal life, she wishes me all of the best and is happy to stand up for me on my wedding day. to you and your friend.

to your MOH, that's terrible news and I'm so sorry for her. You need to be her friend right now, support her and she'll support you. Tell her you'll be there for her with whatever she needs right now. Remember, this too shall soon pass.

I agree with all of this. just being there will help her immensely. I am sorry for your friend, but you know what they say...when one door closes, another one opens up.

My MOH was divorced recently. It was a very long & tiring situation for her. She has been very supportive of me with all my plans. I sometimes feel that my wedding is hard for her to talk about, but she is a good friend so she does it with a smile. All you can do is be there for her-she is going to need you now more than ever.
