Wedding Responsibilities

You'll probably get a lot of different answers for this one. Some people expect a lot and some people just expect their MOH and BMs to dhow up the day of the wedding. Here's what I feel is their responsibility.
MOH
* shop with/help bride pick out her own dress and dresses for the BP (unless of course the bride wants to do it on her own)
* purchase dress, shoes and be responsible for paying for own hair/makeup
* lead the organization of the shower and bachelorette parties (includes planning and paying)
* make a toast at the reception
* offer help throughout to the bride (ie: can I come over and help you stuff invitations/wrap favors)
BMs
* purchase dress, shoes and be responsible for paying for own hair/makeup
* assist MOH with the planning and paying for the shower and bach. party

I think this in an individual issue. I chose my best friend, even though she lives in Chicago and I knew she would not be available to help with as many of the little details. She pretty much just came to the shower, RD, but was a great help the day before the wedding calming me down. We got our nails done, hair and makeup that morning, and she make a great speech. She was not there to help wrap, shop, etc., and I actually got her dress and brought it to her to make her life easier, but when it comes down to it she is my best friend, and I would choose her ten times over as my MOH.
