MOH Issues

MOH Issues

ok i just need to vent . i am not having a bridal party just a MOH. i haven't started to actively dress shop. So tonight my mom and my FMIL are going. I asked my sister (MOH) if she wants to come, she said 'i'll probably come i will let you know' . aka.. NO

whenever i bring up shopping she tells me her days off. so basically what she is saying is that i have to take off of of work to go shopping for HER dress. she tells me she rather go on her day off or when her son is done with school. Mind you he is FOURTEEN YEARS OLD!

Why is she being so difficult !! she is my sister for crying out loud. ALSO SHE WORKS PART TIME AND HER JOB IS 5 MINUTES AWAY
She also makes comments that she doesn't want to spend alot. I know money is tight but i also don't want her to get a dress that its going to fall apart.

i work full time and commute into manhattan and still make it to go week nights.

I was in her wedding years ago when i was in my twenties. i was barely making ANY money and i made no comment about how much the dress was. i event paid to get my make up done. went into brooklyn to shop. i was very accomodating.

sorry if this is a bit long.. but i thought i was avoiding this drama by not having a bridal party. Plus she is my sister !!!! i would think she would be more excited !!!!!!!

thanks for listening

Re: MOH Issues

oh i'm sorry! she's definately not being sensitive to your needs right now.
maybe you could find a nice way to tell her everything you just told us.

Tell her that it's YOUR wedding and since you work full time she needs to make herself available for you on your day off in the next 3 weeks. that gives her time to make arrangments at work. also, her son will be out of school by then so that excuse is gone at that time as well.

Good Luck!!

Thanks Girls

My sister is a little hot headed...basically i did tell her what i just told u guys. whenever i bring it up she turns it around that I am being difficult. I don't think i should have to take a vacation day to go shopping for HER dress. i may have to end up doing that if i don 't get much accomplished for my gown during the week nights

Trying not to be difficult or turn into a 'bridezilla'.

I am just about to tell her to go pick it out herself. Then i will go back to the store on my time to see it.

thanks again

it's not Bridezilla of you. AT ALL.
that word has so many normal people and nice brides afraid to stand up for themselves b/c they don't want to be labled.
your sister is the one who's being difficult.
She works part time. There are plenty of hours left over in her week to go look at dresses.
I'm angry at her for being so difficult towards you!

I think you should pick out three dresses you really like. Tell her those are now her options. She is go and try them on sometime in the next few days/ weeks and pick ONE.
That's it. It's your wedding.

if you originally had no problem with her picking it out on your own then let her do that, it'll save you trouble and anxiety. but if you wanted to pick it out than i think you have every right to do it the way i suggested. that way you both get what you want.
Sort of.

hmmm.. good idea about picking out 3 dresses..

i will give her until next month.. i know maybe she is a little busy because my nephew graduates friday.. but not really because she isn't having a party or anything.

me & sister always fight about whose time is more valuable. she always claims she has none because of her son.. what would she do if had 2 3 or 4 kids.. SHE HAS ONE FOURTEEN year old son!!

thanks for listening i just really wanted to hear that i am not the difficult one.

you girls are the best

Im sorry! I know it is annoying when it seems like tehy are not as enthusiastic as you would hope- especially when you did everything you could to be accomodating for them! I guess you just have to let it go, or try talking to her about it. goodluck!
