MOH Issues

MOH Issues

ok i just need to vent . i am not having a bridal party just a MOH. i haven't started to actively dress shop. So tonight my mom and my FMIL are going. I asked my sister (MOH) if she wants to come, she said 'i'll probably come i will let you know' . aka.. NO

whenever i bring up shopping she tells me her days off. so basically what she is saying is that i have to take off of of work to go shopping for HER dress. she tells me she rather go on her day off or when her son is done with school. Mind you he is FOURTEEN YEARS OLD!

Why is she being so difficult !! she is my sister for crying out loud. ALSO SHE WORKS PART TIME AND HER JOB IS 5 MINUTES AWAY
She also makes comments that she doesn't want to spend alot. I know money is tight but i also don't want her to get a dress that its going to fall apart.

i work full time and commute into manhattan and still make it to go week nights.

I was in her wedding years ago when i was in my twenties. i was barely making ANY money and i made no comment about how much the dress was. i event paid to get my make up done. went into brooklyn to shop. i was very accomodating.

sorry if this is a bit long.. but i thought i was avoiding this drama by not having a bridal party. Plus she is my sister !!!! i would think she would be more excited !!!!!!!

thanks for listening

Re: MOH Issues

Sorry. That was my fear about having Mothers/married women in my BP. I was afraid they wouldn't take it as seriously as my single cousins. You could try talking to her. Asking her to help you out the way you helped her at her wedding.

So sorry you are going through that. I was exactly in the same situation with my MOH only she was a friend of mine and it got so bad that I had to cut her out of my wedding. she wanted everything to revolve around her when I was the bride. I only wanted to have family in my party as far as the girls went but I had to include her because I was her MOH at her wedding, that was the biggest mistake I made. Since she is your sister, I'm sure you guys can work things out, unfortunately it didn't for me.

I replaced her with my sister in law which is what I should have done in the beginning : )

Sorry...MOH are such pain in the butts but it can be worse you can have 7 bitchy women who can;t agree on anything.

I'm sorry to hear your MOH is very blah about your big day! You could try talking to her and telling her how you feel and how happy you were for her when it was her day.

If that doesnt work tell her you're going shopping on this day and if she cant make then tell her you'll just get her dress without her and then she won't have any say! sorry I have 2 sisters who are my MOH's and sometimes I have to be a little 'tough' with them to get my point across...... good luck!
