MOH just dropped out

MOH just dropped out

My MOH who has been sick for some time told me today that she cant be in the wedding party beacuse it will be too much for her. I told her earlier that I would do anything to make things easier for her, like she wouldnt have to walk down the aisle if she wasnt up to it-she could already be sitting up front, she didnt have to plan any parties if she wasnt up to it. I feel horrible b/c she is my best friend and I cant replace her with anyone else. FH suggested I buy her dress for her and give it to her if she is feeling better by November. I dont know what to do. I guess I wont have a MOH now.

Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear about your MOH, I hope her health is doing better by November. It's good that she was up-front with you about it now, I'm sure she feels horrible.

awww that's horrible!!

i think the important thing is to not make her feel guilty for not be able to be your MOH. I'm sure she already feels horrible.

Get her a dress and treat her like you would if she was a MOH. But wait on on this stuff until you see that she's really feeling better

Be supportive! Don't make her feel guilty. Be there for her. I say buy the dress. If she's feeling better, she can be there. If she's not feeling better, now you've given her a nice dress to wear out for a special occasion.

My prayers for her.

Aww that stinks. I agree with your FH, buy the dress and maybe by Nov. she will be feeling up to it. It would be worse if you didnt and come Nov. she was feeling better.
Good Luck to you.

So sorry! It's nice of her to be up front about it, but I know it must hurt to know that she won't be standing up there with you.

Definitely let her know that you don't want to pressure her, but that the invitation stands and thatyou will make it as easy as possible on her.

awww, that is awful. yes, buy her the dress, she can just be sat up front or something and people will know (weddings are great for gossiping) and think it's lovely that she is there to support you even though she couldn't 'perform' as a MOH normally does.

sorry to hear your MOH dropped out..
at least you showed her you care and you are being considerate of what she says. Plus she gave you notice as well. My BM dropped out recently (not comparing to your MOH) and all I did was offer to make things easier for her which is all you can do. I'm sorry to hear.. It's a hard situation.
