Ok... So my MOH is my best friend from college and I was very excited to invited her to be a part of my special day.... BUt now she has done nothing but make me dread the thought of it! For my shower, she put everything off, didnt order enough food, and didnt really have it organized. When I walked into the room, no one even knew that I was there. I ended up having to call a local deli to see if they could bring more food out, organizing the desserts and cleaning up after everyone left. To top it off.... my neighbor saw her at the dollar store the day before buying my present! ( i dont really care about the present but still....) So to make matters worse... she got engaged in may and assured me that she wouldnt be getting married until next summer. A week after my shower (three weeks ago) she calls me to tell me that she is moving her wedding to oct 14th! (Mine is sept 9th) and I am her MOH!!! So as if that is not bad enough, she informed me that she still expects a shower and a bachelorette party. Then she announced that she is doing ivy and candles for her centerpieces (same as me) the dresses we are wearing are navy (same as me) and then today I got the invite in the mail, and they are the exact same ones that I used..... I am sooo mad that i think i am going to burst!
Any suggestions on how to handle this situation? Sarah

Re: MOH Nightmare
whoa! I have no idea what to tell you because I just got so annoyed reading your post.
It seems that she can't bear for you to be the center of attention and you do not need her drama right now.
Continue with your wedding as planned. Her ridiculousness is just that and try to remember that your wedding is about you and your future hubby....NOT HER! Being that your wedding is first she is going to look like the idiot that had the 'copycat' wedding. And personally, I would give as much attention to her shower and bach party as she gave yours.
I'm so sorry you have to deal with this crep so close to your wedding!

They say imitation is the finest form of flattery.
Seriously, be the bigger person. It ***** that shes creeping in on your stuff, but only a limited number of people will be at both weddings. You and FHs families wont be at hers. So do your duties better than she did hers and when everything settles down, reevalutate your frienship

Re: MOH Nightmare
your wedding is first and you did all your planning beofre her - so it looks like she is copying you. try not to let her selfishness ruin your special day!

Re: MOH Nightmare
Why would she do this? To make you more stressed? I would be super pi$$ed and me personally-I would tell her. My mother always says, you get what you give and most of the time I live by that-but sometimes I like being the bigger person and extending myself beyond my means. I would ask her why she did this, and if you can't give her a shower and bach, party, then tell her to pick which one she wants.

Re: MOH Nightmare
Yikes!!!!!!!!!!! You poor thing!!! First, I would sit and talk to her. You asked her to be your MOH for a reason, you guys have some kind of bond together. I would def. Set up a day where you too can meet and you need to tell her how you feel. Tell her from he get go, I'm very upset and I don't want you to take this the wrong way but here's the problem.....Explain to her that for you to be her MOH would not be feasible since your wedding is so close, that if she wants you to be her MOH her wedding will have to be a lot later than Oct. If she really is your friend and can see past her selfishness you guys can work things out. If not, well then you too were not meant to be friends!!!
Personally If I did end up being her MOH which I probably wouldn't I would pout as much attention to her shower as she did to yours!
It must really stink right now being angry at her but without talking to her things won't solve itself. That's the first step to solve the issue! Good luck sista this is a tough one!!!! XOXOXOXO Kitty

Re: MOH Nightmare
Well atleast your wedding is first so she's the one who will look bad, not you and as fdar as the shower do the same thing she did to you ... GL
