Does anyone have any girls in their party from out of town? How did you handle picking out the dresses and fittings?

Yes, I have one bm is California and another in New Jersey. I picked a store (BCBG) that is available in major cities nationwide, and all my girls were able to get the dress without a problem.
Try choosing a designer that is carried in a lot of places, and none of the girls should have problem finding the dress.

All of my bm's are out of town I had them order dresses from jcrew online. It was super easy and they came in, in less than a week

my MOH lives in CA. that's the reason why I picked David's for them to get dresses at... it's nationwide. she was on her own for the dress, I just told her what color to get and she did the rest

I have it even worse, my MOH is in Italy serving a tour for the air force. We email each other, I email her the ideas and she gives me her opinion. Shes coming three weeks before the wedding. I'm adding her to get make up and hair with me. I figure in three weeks she can get shoes and stuff. I honestly can't wait to see her. Its been almost ten yrs. She was my best friend in HS and she has been at my side though thick and thin!

One of my bm is in Texas...I've sent her our top choices & she will either try on the dress by her or else send her measurements...we're ordering through Phyllis at Gownfind. Then I will ship dress to her to have it altered.

My MOH is here in NY, but she is a brand new mom, and very hard to get together with. One BM is in Arizona, the other in Virginia. I ran an internet search to figure out what I liked, then asked the OOT girls to try on the selected dresses and email me photos. Worked well with BM in AZ, not so well with BM in VA. So, I went down to VA and got that BM to the salon to try on all the dresses I liked. I then sent an email telling them what my #1 choice was and gave them an opportunity to tell me if they didn't like it. So far I have one email back (I sent it Tuesday well after midnight), and my MOH (when I saw her yesterday) said she hates dresses, so no matter what I chose she won't like it, so just tell her what to wear, and she'll put it on.
