MOH question

Just out of curiosity
do any of you ladies plan NOT to have a MOH?

My best friend of 16 yrs passed away tragically in 2005.
She would be the only one I would consider.

Of course now I have the option of making my FSIL the MOH, because she was the one who hooked me and FH up. However, she is a little loopy( I think she has a major rx drug problem) and I don't know if I could really count on her for such a 'important' part.

I was gonna etch the whole MOH thing out, but then a coworker told me a MOH was kind of a must...

is that true?
I'm kinda eh about it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend :(

I dont think a MOH is really a must. Your BMs should take care of anything your MOH would (Or even your mom if shes involved in the planning)

thanks yeah I was thinking of just making the FSIL a reg BM ( I think she would be thrilled with that alone)
but my mother is suggesting making her the MOH.

thanks for the input

I'm really sorry to hear about your best friend. I agree, I don't think you have to have a MOH. Especially if it feels unnatural for you.

So sorry to hear about your friend. I didn't elect any of my BMs as MOH. I didn't want a distinction, even with my sisters. FH didn't want to chose bt. his two brothers either for Best Man.

Not necessary...imo

I don't think it's necessary at all. The person you choose as your MOH should be important.
Do you have a best male friend? You can always do a Man of Honor. When my cousin got married last year, his wife actually had her mom as the Matron of Honor. I really thought that was a beautiful touch.

Dont be pressured into having a MOH- especially if you think your sis has that uhm problem, if she does she wont be 'straight' for the wedding . Do what you feel is right-
