MOH Speech

Is anyone having their MOH give a speech at their wedding? If so, does her speech go before or after the best man's?

Thanks!

Re: MOH Speech

I really like that! I have seen it a few times but I can't remember when it took place. My MOH would not do it though. I did give her the option. Too much pressure on her and she is a little shy. She gave a small speech/toast at the shower though!

Re: MOH Speech

At my wedding my MOH did not give a toast but I went to 2 weddings that the MOH did. At Both weddings the MOH gave the toast before the best man. It was really nice!!

Re: MOH Speech

I just gave a speech at my friends as MOH..the DJ had me go first (ladies first he said) and it worked out great because I was so nervous I was happy to be first so I could stop shaking =)..I think it is a nice touch if your MOH wants to do it... represent both sides!

Re: MOH Speech

My sister (MOH) will also give a speech. I also think it is nice to have both sides. I think my MOH will go after the best man.

Re: MOH Speech

my man of honor (brother) and his best woman (sister) will both say something. my brother keeps telling me how terrified he is and that he will only be able to say a two or three sentence toast. His sister is a bee-atch and we can't stand each other, so hopefully her speech won't be terrible!

Re: MOH Speech

I always thought it was the right thing to have your MOH also give a speech. My MOH will give an awesome speech I'm sure, the best man is actually nervous that she'll out do him.

Re: MOH Speech

Thanks for all your advice girls!

I asked my MOH and she jumped at the chance to say a little something. I do like the 'ladies first' idea and then she can introduce the best man, who happens to be very shy.

Thanks again!!

Re: MOH Speech

My MOH and BM are dating, so we are hoping to have them do a speech together. I hope it works out. If not, then hers will be after the BM's speech!

Re: MOH Speech

The MOH's speech is usually after the BM. I had my MOH do her speech during dinner. I am glad I asked her to do one. It is very nice having both.

Re: MOH Speech

Absolutely !!!!! I have a Matron, and 2 MOHs. I know definitely the Matron will. She's my Best friend since childhood, and has been there for me from the beginning of the relationship. I'm not sure if the 2 MOHs (my sis and my other b.f. will be too shy)

Re: MOH Speech

I have two MOHs and I think I'd like them to say something - one of them most likely will be happy to but the other one is a lot like me and doesn't like public speaking so I don't think she probably will. We have two BestMen too - do you think that will be too much speaking if they all say something?

Re: MOH Speech

My MOH (my sister) will be making the speech instead of the best man. FH's brother is soooo shy and he refuses to say anything.
