MOH Speech?

MOH Speech?

Does the MOH always give a speech at the wedding?

In weddings I've been to recently they have, but I didn't know if that was the norm or not. And I don't think my sister has any idea that she might have to make a speech!

Generally, yes the MOH and best man make a speech.

I have been to weddings where the MOH wasn't ready or the best man wasn't ready and so they said they could do it later... but later never came.

If she is going to make a speech... just warn her that speeches are in the VERY beginning usually... so be prepared for that! I see it catching people off guard when they don't realize it's usually one of the first things done.

Not always, but I think it's pretty common now ... 'traditionally' the BM gives the only speech, but in modern times, I see more and more MOHs giving speeches as well.

And thank God for that, because my MOH is hilarious and I can't wait to see what she says!

It depends. Old school was just the BM - now the MOH seems to be doing it more and more.

I am planning on giving my sisters (I have 2 MOHs) the option on whether or not they want to give a speech. They both HATE public speaking so I'm going to say it'll probably be 'no.' Whatever makes them happy.....

When I was the MOH for my sisters wedding I did not make a speech just the best man. I have also been to weddings where both make a speech. I am not sure if my sister is going to make a speech at my wedding but the best man will.

yes my MOH will give a speech! and the last few wedding i was at they had the MOH give a speech too! when i was the MOH in my friends wedding i gave one as well!

I think it just depends on if they want to or not. Ive been to weddings were they have and were they havent. My MOH didnt at my wedding. Shes hates public speaking and I wouldnt make her do something she didnt want to. I think its all up to you and your MOH
