so on Saturday we went to finalize the BM dresses & my MOH made a HUGE stink abotu 'not looking different' the day of mty wedding b/c she was wearing the same dress as everyone else... So, I found her something that I liked that was a little different.. NOW she emails me and asks if I mind that she does her own hair because she wants to wear it down & curl it.. THE BASICALLY SAME THING I was going to do to my hair!!!
Does she NOT realize it's NOT her day?!?!
What does one do?! She's very touchy & if I say something I know it will start a HUGE ordeal... but, come on!

Um, why would she care about standing out? That's not the point of the day. YOU are the point of the day. Honestly, she needs to get her attitude in check and realize it is NOT about her.

I am just going to express my honest opinion regarding the hair situation. I honestly don't think anyone is going to focus on the fact that you both have your hair down and curly. I would just let that one go.

ITA with this. Everyone is going to be looking at you no matter what she does to try to stand out. I agree that she should feel a little more special (ie bigger boquet, more jewlery) but the hair is not going to matter to you at all on the day.

I think it's a little weird about her wanting to look different... I agree.
BUT
I don't think you have a say in how she wears her hair. Esp. if she's paying for it. If you are that's a little different but still.... it's her hair. I MIGHT tell one of my BM's to wear her hair differently... but she's my identical twin and i'm still up in the air about this.

I dont think that it should matter how she does her hair. Everyone knows that you are the bride so if you have the same hairstyle that shouldnt really be a problem. I dont mind how my girls di their hair because they are paying for it at the end of te day. Unless you are paying fot their hair I think it's okay for her to do her hair how she wants.JMO

Re: MOH -- vent....
if she wants to stand out from the rest
Diff Dress Diff style Shoes if you are giving her DOJ...Id get her something diff as well Flowers can be a diff style from the BM or just bigger If all the BM are hair up and yours is down..and you want to be the only 1 like that...what about meetin in the middle let her do it 1/2 up 1/2 down? Or all up but maybe a clip or something to make it look different from the rest
at the end of the day...its your day so she should understand that. I know I had some of the same issues and I was pissed diff as well....but after it was said and done I looked back and said who noticed the diff....not a soul but me and it didnt make or break my day! But I totally see how you feel...

Re: MOH -- vent....
i'm not so much upset about the hair as I am just the fact that she 'felt like she needed to stand out' which is fine.. but she didn't even ask my thoughts on it. She kind of just made a stink at the bridal salon. Now, she emails me to tell me what shoes she's wearing, etc..Again, NOT EVEN asking if I wanted them to wear all the same shoes, etc. I just feel like she's making my decisions FOR ME and trying to run my day.
I told her that I was still thinking about the shoes and I would let her know.... And as far as the hair goes, I told her I was planning to wear mine down and maybe half up half down and if she wanted to that was fine, but we might look similar and I know she wnats to stand out.. (I kind of threw her thoughts back at her) she agreed and said 'maybe I'll do mine differently'...
I was HOPING not to deal with this at all, but I guess there's always a few small problems to deal with.... ANd i Know that ony MY day everyone will focus on ME... I jsut hope she doesn't take the 'I want to stand out' too far...

I think you should make her feel special if she wants to stand out a little bit. You are asking her to take on a lot of responsibilities(whether you agree or not) and you are putting her in a very honorable position. If it is going to make her feel better to wear her hair down let her. In the end it doesn't really matter.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've heard about MOH's wanting to stand out - maybe a different color bouquet? or is it too late for that?
I don't think the hair thing is a big deal, but it's your wedding so you should be happy :)
