My MOH is my best friend in this world but she's the biggest of all my girls. She really doesn't want to wear the same dress as my 3 BMs b/c she thinks she will look terrible standing next to 3 thin girls. She says that this is her best friend's wedding and she wants to look beautiful and feel beautiful, too, and she won't in the same dress as the others (and I understand this). We went to David's Bridal but seem to be struggling finding dresses in her size that she can even try on. Did anyone else have this situation? I want her to be comfortable and happy in her choice.

My MOH is a size 18 and my 2 BM's are a 4. They all wore the same dress. MOH had a jacket made. I will try to attach a pic. Personally, I think the sleeves should've been a litle shorter but she wanted to completely cover her arm. Here is the pic. Its hard to tell. MOH is standing on the top step. You can also go with Alfred Angelo separates. Your BMs can wear similar style, but in the same color. They are definitely worth checking out. The pics are in my album.

It will be hard to find a sample of a dress for her to try on. I had the same problem - what you should do is have one of your smaller bridesmaids try on some dresses your moh of likes and you can tell the cut and shape of the dress much better. If you check out my review you can see some the dress my girls wore.

Hi, IMO I would have your MOH choose her style dress as long as it is the same or similar or coordinating color. My daughters MOH is wearing same color similar dress but a little different. I believe this store has larger sizes. good luck
hi - i just wanted to chime in and let you know that your MOH can definitely wear a different dress and it won't look odd!!!!
Personally - everyone in my bridal party is wearing a different dress & the color and designer is all the same!
As for stores with larger size dresses...i'm sorry but i'm not entirely sure where to find bigger sizes. I had the same problem as a bride & had to go to PA to get my dress...but i don't think they had BP dresses in the larger sizes..

My girls varied in sizes....my MOH and one of my BMs were plus size and my other girls were on the thinner side. They all chose between 2 dresses. My MOH also ended up adding sleeves to hers. I thought they all looked great!

hi! i also think your MOH will look great if her dress is a little different than the BM's--especially if it makes her feel more comfortable.
i'm a 'larger' bride and i got my dress at lillette's--they squeezed me into sizes that i haven't been in years so i could get a feel for the dresses, but i don't know if they have a wide range of BM dresses. you may want to give them a call and ask their BM sample sizes.
i was in a wedding last year as a BM and i also had to try on dresses that were smaller (without zipping them, etc) and then they measured me and ordered my size.
i think if you stick with small bridal shops, they may be more accommodating. i had a horrible experience in macy's when i was a BM--a girl who worked there made me feel like i was the fattest person alive!

Thanks ladies :) She and I are going back to David's Bridal this weekend (without all the other girls and moms) to try and find her something. If we don't have luck, we'll try one of the smaller shops. I'm sure we'll find her something great though! :)
