MOH won't be attending the Bachelorette Party! (Long)
I need your opinions on how to handle this, girls. I was discussing the shower and bachelorette party with my MOH this weekend and she stated that if there are strippers involved in my Bachelorette party (which she is not in charge of, BTW): 'Well then I won't be attending that'.
Now, I know her very well and love her for who she is and I could have told you that she was going to say this. Part of me really doesn't mind, and I understand completely that it is against her morals.
But there's a part of me that wants to get angry at her and fight her on this and convince her to go. She's never EVER been to something like Escapes, for example, so how does she KNOW she won't have good 'clean' fun? I almost want her to experience it so then she can then rightfully judge it. I feel like she is judging me and others who enjoy this entertainment ONCE in their lifetime or even just go along with it for the sake of tradition without even knowing what it's all about!! That's the part that makes me angriest, I think. I don't even necessarily want strippers for my BP and I don't particularly care either way.
The other thing is that she's pulled this holier-than-thou crap before and then turns around and does it with someone else. For instance, a few years ago it was (more or less) 'People who go to clubs are bad and will go to hell. Clubbing is morally wrong and I won't go with you'
Well, NOW all of a sudden clubs are the holy grail apparently and she's up at Copa every tuesday night! Explain that! A few years ago it was drinking. Now she'll go out (with people OTHER than me) for drinks all the time. Granted she never gets drunk, but nevertheless, she would NEVER go out for a drink with me when I asked her, so I stopped asking.
Should I push this BP thing or not? The only comment I made to her when she said she wouldn't go was 'Yeah, you won't come to mine but then in a couple of years one of your other friends will have one and you'll go!' Of course she vowed she would NEVER. Yeah... just like with the clubs. We are like sisters and it really bothers me that we missed out on doing alot of those fun 'crazy' things together because of her so-called morals that are now starting to conveniently change where it suits her. I would like to have one 'crazy' memory with her.
Any advice? Opinions?
