Did anyone else run into the problem where you feel like your wedding party doesnt exist?? We only got together once to go dress shopping. I ended up finding a dress on my own with one of my BM, and I asked everyone to get fitted either last weekend or this. Well I only got 2 girls out of 6 to come Sat. the rest will have to get get fitted on their own. I always pictured it being a group thing to do. I know everyone is busy with their own lives but I feel like they can put aside one day to do this for me. Am I being unreasonable?

I don't think you are being unreasonable. I feel the same way you do. None of my bm came with me when I looked for my dress. No one even offered to go. I just remember when my cousin got engaged how I went to many places with her when she was trying on her dress and would call her every now and then and ask if she needed anything. I will say that all of them did go together to get the bm dresses, so that was a relief. I also I have all family, no friends because I know my friends could be more difficult. I love them, but just not reliable.

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
My wedding party is kind of big (8 girls) and I thought it would be better to split up the dress shopping. I took my MOH and one BM with me and we were able to pick out the girl's dresses. Then I went with each girl while they tried on the dress we had picked out. I thought it was kind of nice, and easier than trying to get the 9 of us free on one day!

Yah they only came dress shopping with me once, and only 2 of my BM have seen my dress, one is family. My MOH (I have 2) havent seen my dress either. I just think its weird. I just know that I would be soo excited if any of my friends or family got married and would want to help with everything. I just dont get it!

I did the same thing. I went with one BM and found the dress I liked but was only able to get one other girl to come and try it (my stepsister). But it was in NYC. Now I am trying to get them all fitted so we can order all the dresses together, but its not going to happen. I told them as long as they are ordered before xmas, but still I wish that it was easier to get them all together. Its fun that way!

I am with you on this one, my BM's are never around and I always feel like they are too busy for anything. I know that we all have our lives but I feel like they never want to be a part of anything

I dont really think its being unreasonable. I am in the same boat, its tough to get all my girls together, with work schedules, some are also taking classes and one has kids, so it gets tough. I found my dress with my FMIL and none of my BP but I know that when I NEED them they will be there

Awwwwwww, I'm sorry you feel this way It ***** when it seems like your girls aren't interested in the wedding stuff. I'm sure they are.....but like you said.....maybe they are all just busy right now. Maybe try to do what the above poster did. Go with each girl individually.....that may be easier on everyone. That way, you get to spend one on one time with each of them It will get better!

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
Yes I feel the same way...in fact the day after Thankksgiving I went dress shopping all by myself. All the other birdes were there with their BM's and there I was alone, no one really even took the time to help me. I had a melt down and cried the entire way home. It was horrible, that dy I called all my BM and we all plan on going dress shopping the day after X-mas. I hope thjey all show up.

i feel your pain!!!!! I know what you are going through and empathize. I've had a very similar experience. Don't let this get you down. THink of this as a sign of a really good thing. Friends are great....but your husband is the one who will ALWAYS be there for you. Even the best and closest of girlfriends can act funny during the time of a wedding....not everyone can be happy for someone.....doesn't mean they are bad people; you just have to accept it.

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
I have had such a long engagement (2 years already, will be 3 when we get married) that I've felt really weird talking about the wedding, like it would be annoying.
Most have been pretty goos, a few have been great, but one has been really disinterested. She's not actively upset about it, but she just doesn't care. Also, she keeps interjecting what she would do (she got married fairly recently), and how my flower girl will be too old (traditionally, she will, but I don't care: I love her) and things like that.
It's upsetting, but try not to worry about it.
