Did anyone else run into the problem where you feel like your wedding party doesnt exist?? We only got together once to go dress shopping. I ended up finding a dress on my own with one of my BM, and I asked everyone to get fitted either last weekend or this. Well I only got 2 girls out of 6 to come Sat. the rest will have to get get fitted on their own. I always pictured it being a group thing to do. I know everyone is busy with their own lives but I feel like they can put aside one day to do this for me. Am I being unreasonable?

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
I have 5 girls..and the most I could get together at once was 2...so I had to make 4 seperate trips there with my girls so tehy could try the dress on and get fitted! The women working there got to know me very well!! It was tough though..some live upstate..another staten island..and another in vermont!!

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
When I went to pick out my dress, my bm and MOH were with me and the bm was trying on the dress and we decided from there. I have a total of 6 girls in my bridal party. i went back another time to see something with my dress and brought the 3rd girl back with me to get measured. My MOH cannot get measured yet b/c she is preg. My sister in law stopped into the store by herself to get measured and that is what FH's sister will be doing. After that, I will only have to go back once with the last bm. I don't mind, I understand everyone has a life and it is not possible for all of us to have the same schedule since some of my girls have kids.
I don't think you are expecting too much but sometimes things just don't work out as we would like. Oh well.

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
it was tough for me because everyone had VERY different schedules. i kept my bridal party small for the reason being that i didn't want to deal with chasing people around and also, people definitely show their true colors at a time like this, and unfortunately it's not very pretty. anyway, i went with one of my bridesmaids to look at dresses for me and i also found a BM dress we both liked, so then i got everyone together to try on the BM dresses. just once. thankfully everyone liked them and it went smoothly. their fittings and such they took care of on their own. the only time we got together other than that, as a group, (other than the shower and bachelorette party) was once for hair and makup trials. as long as all your girls are there for you, i wouldn't worry too much about not ALL being able to get together at once. it's hard when everyone has a different life and different schedules.

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
You are not being unreasonable, but I think everyone feels this way. My girls all live pretty locally and one had already told, 'I don't care about hsopping, just pick a dress and I'll wear it.' So I just don't include her. Not out of spite, but she hasn't shaown any other interest so, why bother. But for the other girls, whatever time I pick, they ALWAYS have to suggest an hour later or earlier or suggest another location. So I just stopped trying to accomodate everyone. Whoever can make it comes, even if it just me and one other person.

Im going thru the same thing... just planning the engagment is stressful. The people i thought who would be there by my side are not. They people who i never thought would help are. Just be prepared its sad but its reality!

Re: MOH/Bridesmaids
Yep! It happened to me for my July 7, 2006 wedding. I had 1 MOH and 5 BM. I had 3 girls from my side of the family, and 3 girls from his side, 2 were his sisters, and 1 was his cousins, my age. They were an absolute terror. Never wanted to go dress shopping or for shoes together. . . They hated the skirts I originallt picked out because my Bm dress was 2 piece. It wasn't til lile 2 months b4 the wedding, we changed the skirts, and even with that, only 2/6 girls showed up with me, when I left work for 2 hours specificaly to get ALL THE GIRLS down there at the same time. They aggrvated me so much and theres was only ONE GIRL that did not give me ANY PROBLEMS AT ALL THROUGHOUT this whole thing and it was my FI (now DH) cousin, whose my age. My MOH and I had a huge fight, as did my cousin/bm. and my FI sisters as well. They all gave me so much heartache about everything. and i wanted them to wear gloves because it wasmore elegant and classy and i was wearing them as well(jusy for entracnes) and they complained about that too. Needless to say, they look STUNNING in the whole dress and everyone at Villa Lombardi's who worked there compliments me and my mom on what beautiful BM dresses (and everything else), and how theyve never seen a BM dress like that! and here all my girls were complaining about it! I would have loved to wear that BM dress. But i was the bride, so that was even better!
going bck though....i would have changed my MOH in a heartbeat...would have never picked who i picked.... :(
