Im so close with my mom but Im kinda daddy's little girl too. I dont know if I should ask my mom to walk me down too. I dont want to hurt my dads feelings since it is his role and he is so excited about.
Any opinions? Anyone else having both parents walking them down?

I had both parents walk me down, but it is part of my religious tradition. However, I think that if that is what feel right to you, it adds a beautiful touch to a ceremony of any religion.

I just feel some times that I have to follow what my sister did when she got married 3 years ago and she only had my dad walk her down. I guess I dont have to though.

I'm having both and my dad said he wouldn't have it any other way. He wasn't offended at all. Are they still married though? That might make a difference.

I love that idea, I'm thinking of doing it myself! My sister-in-law did it at her wedding and it was very touching!

I am having both walk me down. I am very close with both parents and felt it was appropriate. I was also brought up jewish and it is a tradition.

Re: Mom and Dad walking you down the isle
My parents are divorced, and I feel very strongly that my mom has the majority to do with the person I am today. Out of appreciation for her, I'm going to ask her to wlak with me - but out of respect for my dad, I'll ask him too - he would be crushed if I didn't.

I want both to walk me down...my mother thinks this should only be something for my father to do ...I disagree with her ..I told her it would be either both or none (have dad walk me part of the way and then I would walk to rest of the way myself to signify..that no one is 'giving me away' I am choosing)

Re: Mom and Dad walking you down the isle
In the jewish religion you're supposed to walk down with both parents...symbolizes one family becoming another family...its nice. I'm not jewish by my fiancee is and im toying with the idea of walking down with both of my parents...cause like you said I'm really close with my mom too...guess ill decide closer to the date

Re: Mom and Dad walking you down the isle
My mom walked down the isle with my Dad after they were married.. lol, that was her chance!
I felt it was my Dad's moment and since we had a Catholic Mass I felt it was appropriate.
Don't get me wrong my mom is my best friend but she also got to enjoy the dress shopping and the planning which Dad missed out on. But at the same time I have an older brother who ushered in my mom. (I may have felt different if I didn't have a man in my family to do that with her)

Re: Mom and Dad walking you down the isle
If you think you're dad may be hurt or disappointed, just let it be 'his' thing to do . - The way I see it, your mom gets to do ALL of the other stuff w/ you - You can give your dad that one little thing .....-
