You shouldn't feel terrible or heartless because it's very evident that you care a lot about your mom and your sister. You are in a really tough postition right now and honestly I don't know what I would do if I was you. Since your mom seems tied up everytime you try to talk to her I would probably write her a letter. Let her know that you are concerned, but try not to point blame because then she may get defensive. Just let her know that you love her and appreciate everything she's done for you in the past but that you are worried about her. Maybe try talking to your sister too because it seems like she needs some guidance. Good luck!!! Don't forget that we're here for you!!!

you mentioned that your sister was 15 years old. is her father int he picture? if he is, can you go to him and see if he can help your sister out and get her the medical help she needs? this may sound terrible but give her an ultimatum. if she doesn't ship up in X amount of time, you may want to talk to a close family member you trust who can take care of your sister in your mother's absence. i would also report to all major credit cards companies to report suspicious activity on your accounts so if she tries to sneak into one of your credit card accounts again you won't be held responsible. at this point, if she has access to any of your banking accounts, i would close them and open all new ones. you and your fiance should not be held responsible for your mother's financial instability. has your mother always been like this? if she hasn't, can you talk to your step dad and see if he can take her to the doctor to get her checked out? its possible she may be suffereing from some type of chemical imbalance or something else that may be causing her to act like this. i'm so sorry your going through this.

I agree with the other ladies. Not sure which state your mom and sister live in, but I thought you could not drop out of school until you were 16? Can anyone verify this?

Yes she has always been like this its just i had been living at home and now that i am not. it has become more real, like i have noticed it more and it upsets me more seeing from the outside
I have a block on all my credit cards and accounts so that they cannot be used without calling me to get my okay and the password.

What I would focus on, (before your mom or even your moms health), is your sister. Imagine what she is going through living with her. When you get away from the house, sometimes you see things more clearly or differently but you forget what it is like being in a bad situation. I would be worrying about your sister right now. There are reasons she wants to drop out of school and it might have to do with her home life. You may not be able to help your mom at this point. Some of the things she has done, I would find unforgivable. But you can still help your sister if you try intervening quickly.

hmm maybe i should re phrase that she is in HS and will be 16 shortly between being sick and cutting class they told her she had to repeat her classes she stopped going all together not so much dropped out like withdrew but just stopped going and stayed home. The TO wont come get her because my mom will vouch for her so she doesn't get in trouble
