Ok! I am in serious need of some honest opinions! I know you can help me out here!
For my wedding, my mom has asked me to wear the necklace she wore to her wedding. It is also the necklace that my sister wore on her wedding day. It is just a plain gold chain with a gold/opal/diamond pendant. So here’s the problem, it is soooo not my style or taste! I don’t even think it matches my dress. The blue on the opal really sticks out and I think it will be distracting to me when I see my pics! I am having such a hard time pairing it with earrings and a bracelet. I do want to wear it just because it is hers and I have a feeling I will regret it later if I don’t! I am probably just gonna s uck it up and wear it, but I am curious….. what would you guys do?
Pic is in album!

maybe you could do something else with it rather than wear it? Like attach it to your dress somehow (on the inside maybe)
good luck

Would you be able to use it on your bo-k wrap? It would be in some pictures but probably wouldn't stand out as much then.

Re: Mom want me to wear her necklace but.....
how about wearing it to ur ceremony and then changing into another one that u like better?
I would just be honest. I have no problem saying to my mom if I like something she's suggesting or not

I was thinking about doing this! My mom is ultra sensitive - I might have to to play it by ear!

i was doing to suggest wrapping it around your bo-k too!
or maybe you can take the charm off and put it on a bracelet?
third idea i had was, what if you wear it backwards? i saw somewhere a girl who were a blue charm or crystal on the BACK of her neck...maybe you could do that and then still wear a necklace in front...if the chain is thin enough you prob wont notice
but be honest with her, tell her you dont like the way it looks
orrr offer to wear it to RD?

do you have a pic of your dress? i wanna see if it'll 'match' your whole ensemble...
how about wrapping it in your bouquet? technically, you are still using and wearing it... just not around your neckline!

Tell her it doesn't match, but that you want it to be a part of your day. I'd use it around my bouquet.

I agree. Or maybe what Lovie said, wear the charm on a bracelet, even an anklet if you alreayd have a bracelet that you want to wear

Thanks guys! I like the Boquet Idea....I bet my mom would flip and think I would lose it. I'll see if i can get here to come around! I'd hate to hurt her feelings and not sure it at all (she is a major cry baby).

It's not that bad! NMS either though. And if it's really going to hurt her feelings, maybe wear it for the ceremony only and then switch to the necklace of your choosing.

I think wrapping it around your bok would be a great idea.

I love the wrapping it around the bo-k idea, or even wearing it to the RD? That way it's still a part of your 'special day' but you don't actually have to wear it on the day of the wedding?
