I am knitting a scarf for my friend's baby due in February. How long should it be? Anybody feel like measuring a scarf they have for their baby...or maybe just measuring their baby? THANKS!!!!

Knitting.... you must post a photo Jenny.
Do you put a baby in a scarf at only a month or two old? I think the bundting/snow suit stuff might be enough since they are bundled up so tightly.
They also sell a car seat cover that is all warm and cozy and zips around the entire car seat. I plan on getting one of those for our little one.

yeah...it's more for cuteness and show! I cableknit the scarf, and am doing a hat and mittens - and am doing a granny square blanket to go with the whole thing! I figured the scarf can just be like criscrossed under a sweater...not really around the neck...

Jenny, I think your gesture is wonderful....can you make the scarf for the child when it's older? I just don't think that a small infant will respond well to a scarf tied around its neck.

The car seat cover Michele mentioned is a MUST!! I had one for Luke and I used it all winter. He wore his snowsuit twice and even then it was because I wanted to see him in it. The car seat cover is a godsend to Moms with babies in infant seats during the cold winter.

The eddie Baur carseat cover IS A MUST I agree.. a scarf would be cute. but I think a new mom might be a little nervous about a newborn wearing a scarf.. Alex is 7 months now and I bought him one of those hats with the ears.. he hates it.. Tried for a scarf. he hated that more. I cant help you .. Good Luck!
