Things you had waiting for you when you got home from the hospital. Our neighbors who are so great to us, just had their first daughter Autumn, and we want to do something nice for them. A few co-workers said food, and also someone mentioned a basket with things like blankets, etc. I was thinking of making a lasagna, some garlic bread, salad, and cookies, but didn't know for sure. Any ideas are appreciated. And, also if you say the basket what types of things should go in it. TIA

We didn't have time to cook in the beginning so food is a wonderful idea.

I agree food is great and so thoughtful. Anything they can easily reheat. My mom made me a turkey breast, some ribs, etc. It felt nice to have a home cooked meal rather than takeout and quick stuff we live on the first few weeks.

I also agree with the food. The most convienient thing you can do for them would be to make a few different dishes that they can keep in the freezer and then all they have to do is put it in the oven.

Home cooked meals were so nice. Another thing that might help but I'm not sure what kind of relationship you have with your neighbor, is taking care of some yard work, like mowing the lawn. I know that could have helped us a lot.

Thanks girls for the great ideas! What are some things that can be frozen or will last a few days? They really dont have a lot of family locally, so I'm trying to do anything to help out. Thanks Again!
