Moms of twins - ? for you

Moms of twins - ? for you

Congrats to Irishtracy and Bride in April - if I'm missing any other twin mom's I apologize -
I was just wondering if the twins just happened or were helped my science. If this is too personal I apologize in advance - if you prefer to answer you can always FM if not here.

I'm just asking because twins run in DH's family (his dad was a twin) and his two cousins are twins and his cousin had twins last year.

i think twins need to run on the woman's side because you need two eggs....
Maybe try the parenting board

I have read up on twins quite a bit,
twins come from the maternal side.

I have twins that run in my family, I was on clomid and I did have 2 sac's but nothing formed in the 2nd sac (just fluid), so I would of had twins...I am just happy that I got pregnant.

Baby dust to all!!!!

We do not have twins in my family or in DH's. So imagine my surprise when the Dr. told me we were having twins a month ago.

And it was natural, not aided by science --

Apparently after 35 the chances of twins is much higher and it does not have to be in the family.

We lost both, one one week and the other a week later. But, maybe next time!! At 38 twins would be a blessing to me.

We have no twins that run in our families, but hearing about the fact that us over 35ers having a good chance to have twins sure is a nice thing to dream about

But really I just want to get PREGGO with one healthy baby, boy or girl - twins would be like hitting the Lotto !

I wish you ladies so much baby dust, and to confirm my Doctor told me that ladies over 30 have a tendency to release more eggs so having twins is quite likely it doesn't always have to run in the family!
Baby dust to everyone!!!

My dads sister had 2 sets of twins NOT aided. I would love to have Twins Ive said that since I was little. Then when I met my DH his sister had identical twin girls who were 3 (now they are 13 )and I still can't tell them apart. But they are so much funny. I just want babies that are healthy.

My DH is a twin and they were natural. It 'tends' to skip a generation in his family. So I probably won't have twins, but I may have twin grandchildren which would be a-okay!

My grandfather was an identical twin... so I'm still hopeful!

My friend is having twins and neither she or the father have twins in the family. And it was natural, no meds.

The doctor said she is carrying a set of twins that typically don't run in family's. She is having identical twins which is usually 1 egg that splits into 2 that share a sack and a placenta but hers are identical in separate sacks and share a placenta.

That's what I thought too. My great grandmother on my dad's side had twins, but one was stillborn I think, and my aunt (her granddaughter) had twins. My mother's brother also had twins, but it was kind of a fluke, I think. They're fraternal.

Plus my DH is a twin...I think we're due for twin grandchildren if anything.

BTW: Twins are HARD work!!! I used to have to go to my aunt's house after school when they were little (i was 13 I think) just so she could take a shower!!!!

As far as I know I'm the only one to have twins on my side. We had no help from science.
