Moms who are attorneys

Moms who are attorneys

We are not quite at the stage where we are thinking of children, but for those moms who are attorneys, how do you do it? I look at my schedule now and I barely have time for my husband, let alone a baby!!!!!:

Tell me about it, I am having the same dilemma. I work for a firm in NYC and they give you 2 months paid and then 2 months unpaid when you have a baby. After that, I have no idea what we will do. It is going to be tough. Where do you practice?

I work in NYC mid-size firm. Your firm is much more generous than mine; we get two weeks paid and then three months unpaid (generous, huh!) . I know that they have allowed some women here to do flex-time, which is at least something. However, that means I work 40 hours a week instead of 60!!!!!

Where are you living now? Do you have a commute? I am living on LI and I can't imagine commuting while pregnant and then once I have children.

I currently live in Brooklyn, but we plan to move to Nassau at sometime in the future. Hubby is from Suffolk, but no way will I make that commute (MIL does it and it is 2 hrs each way!!!)

I work inhouse, and fortunately, they are quite understanding of new moms. Not only is there a pretty decent maternity leave (paid for most of it), but they have daycare on the premises for 3-month-olds up... I hope this will work...
