my mom is the worst, and i knew she would blow it with the shower since she already proved that she couldn't restrain herself from talking about my dress in great detail in front of FH! we were at her house on sunday and i was saying that if anyone was looking for ideas for a theme, that i'd always wanted an english tea party (i know it's a little froufrou, but that's me). she responds by saying the place she picked out is 'more like the boston tea party' and then immediately starts talking about how great the brunch is @ captain bills she's so bad at this. i told my MOH to watch out for her if there's anything she wants to be an actual surprise. god love her...

Hey, date twin (who gets married 6 hours after we say 'I do'), my mother already told me when the shower is. I have a feeling that I might find out WHERE it is before April 4th. . .all that I know is how they are going to have me 'open' the gifts--I asked not to have to sit for 3 hours and do Bridal Bingo, so they're having a display shower (everything is wrapped, but in clear or light colored cellophane). My mother and sister/MOH have a tendency to inadverently spill the beans. . .

OMG my mother is the WORST!!! FH didn't tell her about the proposal b/c he knew she would blow it for me. She knows about my shower and keeps saying 'I know something you don't know' i want to strangle her. I want it to be a total surprise, i hope she doesn't slip. I gave her a pic of my dress for her scrapbook and she showed the entire neighborhood - i had to take it back right quick! lol. Good Lord!!
Well at least you know its at a great place. My friends shower was there and it was great. I am so disappointed today because I went to talk to them last night about our Rehearsal Dinner but Bay Shore's Reunion is that night there. But I had a GREAT dinner.

Aww, that stinks. My poor mother can keep a secret, but not my nana! After my father blew when my shower is, my nana blew WHERE it is. I thought my mother was going to seize.

Lol my mom too. She lectured me for a good hour about how FH can't see or know about my dress (which I wasn't planning to)
then at the florist meeting she's like- 'Oh the crystals in the stephanotis will go great with the crystals on the top of your dress!!!'
and at a bridal show a model had on MS Victoriana (the skirt is similar to mine) and she says VERY loudly- that looks like your dress!
I mean he still doesn't know but I was like SHUTUP lol

well yeah, that's totally what it is. i think the funniest thing about it is that she thinks she's being really coy and cryptic..and she's so not, like 'boston tea party' ::wink wink:: she'll never figure that out! who does she think she's dealing with here???
