Thanks Andrea for choosing me to be the new BOTW......I hope I don't let you down with my questions :)
So here is todays question..... What have you found to be the hardest part of the planning process so far??
I have found the guest list to be the hardest, we are over our numbers that the hall is letting us have....and we are trying to make everyone happy and making sure that everyone they want there is invited, we are learning that we can't worry about making everyone else happy but we have to worry about US being happy.....

Getting the guest list! It's like pulling teeth. AND!!!! we are sending out 250 invites. He has a big family, so his mother gets 100. (They were the reason for the big wedding). My mom gets 75 because we have a small family and lots of long time family friends. That leaves FH and I with 75. Now.... he's telling me he wants to invite his long time friends + their parents + their siblings.. and maybe even some cousins he recently started hanging out with.
I made a short list of our close friends, BMs, GMs and a couple of army friends of my brothers (who I'm friends with and are like brothers to us). And it came to 74! And that was a top of the head, 2 minute list... Imagine if I actually thought about it!
The guest list is just my enemy right now...

This is going to sound silly but the hardest part has been the hotel block. For me that was teh hardest because I was balancing what the people have to pay, whether there is a shuttle (which would save me money if there was one) and if there was a breakfast (which again would saev us money)
We ended up going with the hotel that was about $40 more a night but it included breakfast and the shuttle!

I think the hardest part so far for me has been coordinating everything so when the day comes it'll run smoothly...my church is in Bay Shore & my RH is in Mineola-so I don't want to leave too much time between, but I don't want everyone to feel rushed (especially me & FH!)

I'm with Mara....the hardest part has been the hotel block. All of the hotels we have choices of have had the worst customer service when we speak with them...I'm just not happy with the choices we have, but we're going to have to make a decision soon because we're coming up on our year mark and have a lot of OOT guests.

so far the hardest part has been getting me, FH, and our parents to all like the same reception hall. since then, things have been going much smoother, but I am nervous about tackling the hotel block as well.

So far the hardest part has been getting two of my bridesmaids to come see the dress that I want them to wear. One of them is coming with me on Thursday to see it. If she likes it then the other bridesmaid is going to just go with it.

I am glad I am not alone with hating the Hotel Block. But I do have to say I am extremely happy with our decision to go with the Fox Hollow!

Since I live in New Hampshire the hardest thing about wedding planning is not being able to do everything I want to do when I want to do it. I have to plan trips to NY if i want to see a vendor, or even really do any serious planning. I can organize all I want up here but something always ends up changing!!

i have to book photo,hair, makeup, and dj for 4 days. i am only booking video for two days to save some costs.
i need 3 sets of invitations, i need 5 'wedding dresses' (which are super expensive). so far i only ordered 2. i need jewelery for all 5.
not to mention food, decor, blah blah blah...

I got stressed reading this! I don't know how you are getting through all this.
There hasn't been any part of the planning that is stressful just yet.

After reading the above, I don't feel like I really have a right to complain!
I am so surprised how hard hotel blocks have been for everybody. That was our easiest vendor, there is a hotel across the street with a free shuttle, done.
The guest list has been very hard, my parents are insisting on inviting someone we are emphatically insisting on NOT inviting.
The venue was very hard, because we are very out of the box people and it was hard to find a place that was 'us'.

Hands down the guest list. I don't want to go over budget so I'm sticking to a strict 150 guests but between my mom wanting to invite the world and wanting to please everyone, I think we'll end up with 175. Ugh.
