Money money money

As 2014 approaches I am VERY excited but I see my days getting less and less and the money being given out more and more! Slightly stressing all these huge bills! I haven't committed to my honeymoon yet because I just can't justify the cost!! I want to be excited but I feel like as the days go down, I need a FATTER bank account and a SLIMMER waist and this isn't happening! #endrant

Same here...we haven't booked a honeymoon yet because I'm not sure how much $$$ we're going to have left and we're not even paying for the majority of the wedding. The little things keep adding up and up. We may go on a honeymoon a month later.

I hear ya!! We are actually buying the flights ASAP to avoid high costs closer to the date.

We booked a honeymoon because after the stress of planning this wedding we deserve it and will need it! We are in the same boat as far as money. It's crazy how much money we still owe!

Me too! I just hit the 4 month mark and i feel crazed. We are booking the honeymoon this month. We figured we would put it on a no interest credit card and pay off after the wedding.

I feel ya!!! Gets so expensive! Everywhere I look I see $$$$$$ leaving me!!!! but it will all work out in the end! :) We are waiting a bit to book a honeymoon- probably around 6 months out. By then we will know exactly how much we can spend!

Everyone is different, but I actually wish we'd waited a little while to take our honeymoon. Don't get me wrong, we had an AMAZING time, and work-wise our timing was great, but financially it was stressful. If you're doing an all-inclusive you may not feel it as bad. We went to Australia and New Zealand and it was a dream, but food and expenses when we got there were out of control. The exchange is easier when you use credit cards, so now we have some very large bills to pay!

I completely agree! This weekend it really hit us the most. We spent almost $1,000 on just the little things we needed to start setting up our apartment - cleaning products, tile, organizers…not even anything fun! The only way we're affording our honeymoon and the wedding is because we don't have to worry about the honeymoon right now since it's a month after the wedding. FH and I are doing the best we can to save and not spend every penny on the wedding but between that and rent, it $ucks! I just keep telling myself that everyone makes it work, so we all will too!

I am so glad you posted this because i feel the same way!!! None of my friends understand either when i try to explain! I was looking at honeymoons last night. My FH said we can dip into whatever money we make off the wedding but i don't want to do that! That money(which won't be a lot) is supposed to help with a down payment on a future house. ahhhh ><

Thanks for putting this out there, it is by far my number one source of stress. My mom just put down the deposit for my flowers for me and I feel like I hit the jackpot because there is an extra $200! I finally get why people say the wedding planning is what makes people wish they eloped!

You are not alone honey!!! At least once a week I have a break down and I am obsessed with going over the budget. I buy stuff and once I get home, return anything that isn't absolutely needed. My biggest nightmare is not if something goes wrong the day of, it's if I can't pay a vendor off. I refuse to go into our marriage with a huge bill for our wedding. We can't go on our Honeymoon right after the wedding for other reasons, but it actually works to our advantage because that is an expense I do not want to skimp on.

Ahhh I am so happy to see we are all together in this! So many good things but so much money!! We are moving out in a few months and I just can't predict every cost! It's driving me crazy! I know in the end it will all work out but I agree I don't want to spend my wedding money on a honeymoon! I want to save that for a house!!

Agreed! The deposits were one thing but it's the balances that are going to be tough.

Oh and because of our work schedules and vacation time, we're not going on a honeymoon for about 4 months after our wedding. I'm taking the week of my wedding off so I can relax, get all the last minute stuff done and spend time with family coming in for the wedding. For me that was more important than leaving for a honeymoon right after.

Cortney do either you or your fh have cc with travel points? I do and fh husband does we don't have enough points to book the whole trip but it's something and anything that we don't have to pay for is a bonus in my mind.
