( Money Saving Tip) Any Verizon Employees or spouses looking for mortgages...
...CWA offers no closing fees other than the standard insurances and state fees. I was quoted $23000 in closing fees with no points from E-Loan and I am only paying $10600 in state charges and surcharges (insurances) from Members Mortgage.... If you belong to a union, it pays to look in to it. They also pay for your appraisal, order the title search~as opposed to your lawyer doing it and get a commitment letter out in a week.

$23000 in closing fees?! Thats crazy!
we're using eloan, and our closing costs are in line with other estimates...we don't have ANY fees specific to eloan, just the normal stuff.

We used Member's Mortgage and were thrilled. We saved over 7000$ in closing costs. They also work with teacher's unions.

I know, I thought it sounded crazy but it was estimated at a certain percent of our loan.
I am thrilled so far with them...
SAM: WHo did you deal with there?

John Barry was our broker. He was great. They were so efficient and I still can't believe how much we saved. The closing was at their office in Garden City ( I think). It was SOO weird meeting some of the people after talking to them on the phone for so long. Good luck!
